I can acquire these claims either through smart marriage, which would lead to the children of the union inheriting claims on the territories in question, or through fabrication. I need to have some kind of claim to their territory to declare a war for it. Military conquest is all based around claims. So I'm basically guaranteed to win any defensive war against them. The only thing that has changed is that if they attack me, they also have to attack the entirety of Aenys kingdom, rather than just me. I could have attacked them before, because I'm his vassal and his crown authority isn't high enough to stop inter vassal wars.
